Discord bot and renewal

Let’s jump to the main hook of this post. If you have connected your account to Discord, have subscription and joined our server then your Literary Universe subscription will add a role on our server.

We will also add more integrations so that Discord gets live updates on important and interesting updates. Like posting this article to announcements channel.

With all this we had re-worked how our Discord is structured and added new forums for those that want to chat about writing on Discord.

Reading time & writing statistics

We have started working on tracking your reading and writing time. We are early in this and we will be refining this as we learn more.

We want you to provide you with information on your reading patterns and authors to know when are people reading their stories the most, so that they can adjust their publication schedules.

Still we know that there are those that don’t want to be tracked. If you want to switch this off, you can do so in your account settings where there is now a new Tracking & Statistics section.

Image upload in text editors

We had image upload available for a while, but it has been hidden. You had to manually drag the image in. Now with our new floating menu on new lines you can click the upload image button and select the specific image you want to upload.

Do note that this is a feature for subscribers.

Name pronunciations

We had pronunciation field in the encyclopedia for a little bit already. Today we are adding a new preview of feature, audio pronunciation.

This is available for browsers which support Web Speech API and have voices available.

If your browser supports it you will see a speaker icon next to the name of an encyclopedia entry that, when clicked, will try to pronounce the name based on the instructions provided.
