Dangerous operations with IP

Today we are adding requested features to some of the more dangerous operations that you can perform with your universes and stories. Vox populi, vox Dei

Deleting stories and universe

We have added option to delete stories and universes. You will find that in a danger section of the settings.

There are no restrictions on never published properties. Once you publish there is a time limit and how much of other things have you published around the property.

We are hoping to mirror the real world here as much as possible and in the future we hope to give more freedom in this action. But do keep reminding us if you need it.

That said, if you still want to delete your property and don’t fall into the allowed range and it you think it won’t affect any readers you can email us.

If the deletion will affect readers, then please consider the next option which will also have other benefits in the future.

Private properties

Now there are situations like a book deal where you might want to unpublish a well established story. If you read our TOS we allow this within limits and this option will allow you to do this.

Once you set property to private it will no longer appear in search or discovery. You will need a direct link to access it. But to access the content the reader would have had to already added a story to their library (no new additions to library will be allowed) to access any of the content. This way the readers who already have your story will get to keep it and you can proceed with in your journey.

We plan to expand on this feature in the near future with options to give access to these stories/universe to your readers and so on.

WebPub menifest

Stories now have WebPub manifest available on their preview page. This is another meta tool to provide information for readers and software that can use these.

Other updates

  • We’ve had some technical issues with deploying new versions. These have been resolved, hopefully with some performance improvements as a side effect. But we will have to carefully monitor this and consider fast-tracking some of our other technical improvements and changes.

  • Fixes to our Service Worker. You should now be always getting the latest version of the website and cache better.

  • Added an option to hide chapter numbers.

  • Multiple fixes in translations management.

  • Improved license chooser to focus on selecting a license when creating a property instead of showing info.

  • New universal search in discovery that searches through both universes and stories at the same time.
