Japan 2018 - Day 18
2.9.2018 - Day 18
In the morning Zelma went to the beach while I slept a bit longer and enjoyed the silence of the surroundings from the balcony. After buying some snacks in local convenience store we embarked on way back to Naha. We arrived where we started and went to the main street to find food and Zelma did some shopping. Her main goal was to find a small bottle of the famed local snake sake. Beside the visual and way the sake is made (pretty gruesome if you ask me) it is believed that it has effect on male’s sexual capabilities. This is something that comes probably from Chinese medicine mixed with the fact that the poisonous snake the sake is made from can mate an entire day.
After our late lunch we visited local Chinese gardens. At the time of our hotel check-in the heat was getting to me and I was sleepy, but Zelma was eager to go to the beach. So we went, but I made a mistake in navigation and it took us a bit longer to get there. I immediately took off into the water while Zelma laid down very happy that there was public WI-fi on the beach. By the time Zelma’s feet touched the water the lifeguard’s blew their whistles and announced the end of bathing time.
Tired from the travel and heat we retired to our hotel with a dinner from convenience store (seriously love the convenience stores here) and went to bed early as tomorrow we would be parting our ways on morning flights. I will be going back to Fukuoka, while Zelma to Narita.
