30.8.2018 - Day 15 - To Okinawa

Sleeping in we slowly packed as we prepared for our train ride in the afternoon to Fukuoka from which we would take plane to Okinawa. Taking a plane from Fukuoka was one of the cheapest options. I thought that we would go and see something, but in the end we ended eating at Kyoto station and then exploring the station (the skywalk provides a nice view on the north of the city and the station bellow). After desert and some more gift shopping we boarded our train to Fukuoka.

From Fukuoka it is only two stops by subway to reach the airport. We flew with Peach, which is a low budget airline. To Okinawa it was a quick hour and half jump.  

Immediately upon arrival it was obvious from the night air that we were on a tropical island. Since we were flying with low budget airline we actually arrived at the cargo terminal where they had transformed part of the hangar into a small terminal from which we took a shuttle to the main terminal and from there we took the monorail to the prefecture offices from which our place was only a short walk.
